The mathematics portion of the TSI test has 20 questions and will test your understanding in four areas. The first is data analysis, meaning that one of the test’s concerns is your ability to decipher probability, statistics, and sets of data. The other areas the TSI’s math section tests are geometry, or how well you can distinguish three-dimensional shapes, symmetry, and area; and algebra on both intermediate and basic levels. The last component of the math test evaluates your ability to solve various types of algebraic equations. You cannot use a calculator on the math portion of the test.

You cannot pass or fail the TSI Assessment. Based on how you perform you will either be enrolled in a college-level course that matches your skill level or placed in the appropriate developmental course to improve your skills and prepare you for success in college

How long does the TSI Assessment take? The TSI Assessment is not a timed test. The TSI test usually takes 3-5 hours for all sections

What happens if I do not have time to finish the test? You have 14 calendar days to complete the test. If you do not return to the Testing Center within the 14-day period, you will have to begin again with Question 1 on the section of the test where you stopped

What do I need to bring with me to the test? Photo ID, Test Referral form and Payment receipt

Are calculators allowed on the TSI test? No. Calculators are not allowed. No study materials, reference materials or calculators may be used during the test

When will I get my scores? The TSI Assessment is scored immediately upon completion
