We offer private ISEE tutoring for students looking to gain admission to private high schools
The ISEE is The Independent School Entrance Exam for student in 4th through 11th grade who wish to apply to independent elementary and secondary schools for the following year.
The Lower Level is for candidates for 5th and 6th grade.
The Middle Level is for candidates for 7th and 8th grade.
The Upper Level is for candidates for 9th grade and above.
The ISEE consists of multiple choice questions in four areas: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Math. There is also an essay, which is not scored, but is sent to the schools to which you apply.
The ISEE exam is 2 hours and 40 minutes for Upper and Middle Levels and 2 hours and 20 minutes for Lower Level.
The exam has scaled score from 760 to 940, a percentile rank from 1 to 99, and a stanine from 1 to 9.
The percentile are normed against other children who are taking the test within a three year period.
Although the ISEE is created by the same company who creates the ERB, your child’s score may be lower on the ISEE than the ERB because they are being compared to a selective subset of test-takers: Students who are applying to private schools.
